Sheriff’s Department arrest two men accused of street racing

The East County Riverside Sheriff’s S.T.R.E.E.T. Team continued to crack down on street racing in the Coachella Valley, arresting two drivers this week.

Sebastian Rodriguez Rojas, 19, was arrested Wednesday at approximately 11:50 p.m. near the intersection of Bob Hope Drive and Varner Road. According to jail records, he faces reckless driving charges and is free on $2,500 bail.

Cesar Andrande Zavala Jr., 18, was arrested Sunday at approximately 12:32 a.m. near the intersection of Fred Waring Drive and San Pasqual Avenue in Palm Desert. According to jail records, he faces charges of exhibition of speed and is also free on $2,500 bail.

The East County Riverside Sheriff’s S.T.R.E.E.T. Team (Sheriff’s Takeover Enforcement Team) is directed at putting a stop to illegal street racing/takeovers. To report street racing call our dispatch at 760-836-3215.
