Suspected DUI driver arrested after pursuit ends in crash

The Riverside County Sheriff's Department arrested a Coachella man suspected of driving under the influence Tuesday afternoon.

Froilan David Ramirez, 40, was arrested after a short pursuit that started in Coachella and ended on Avenue 50 and Jackson Street in Indio.

Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Ramirez in Coachella after suspecting he was driving under the influence however, Ramirez would not yield, according to the Sheriff's Department.

The Sheriff's Department confirmed that the pursuit ended in Indio when Ramirez crashed into another vehicle. The driver of the vehicle that Ramirez crashed into suffered minor injuries

Ramirez was booked into Indio jail for felony DUI resulting in injury, felony evading and committing a felony while on bail. Ramirez was also booked for two outstanding felony arrest warrants.
