Juvenile hospitalized after Coachella shooting
Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a shooting in Coachella.
The incident was reported at 4:52 p.m. on the 1400 block of Orchard Avenue, west of Shady Lane in Coachella, according to Deputy Flores of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Flores said deputies arrived and found a male juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound.
Neighbors told News Channel 3 a 14-year-old boy who lives in the Pueblo Nuevo apartments was shot.
The RSO spokesperson said a suspect was chasing the boy through the apartments prior to the shooting. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle prior to deputies’ arrival.
