I-10 Work Begins Thursday Night In Banning

Construction work on westbound Interstate 10 in the Banning area that was delayed by Monday night’s wintry weather and Wednesday night’s wind is scheduled to start tonight.

Alternating lanes will be closed from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. on westbound I- 10 and on- and off-ramps between Hargrave and Eighth streets.

The closures will accommodate slab replacement and grooving work on the freeway, Caltrans spokeswoman Michelle Profant said.

The work was scheduled to start Monday night, but was delayed to Wednesday because of weather. Wednesday night winds pushed the work to tonight, according to Caltrans.
