Della S. Lindley closed for the day due to power outage

A power outage caused by an overnight storm has closed Della S. Lindley Elementary School in Thousand Palms for Thursday October 15th.

School officials were unsure how long the power would be out and made the decision to cancel classes for the day.

According to PSUSD Spokesperson Joan Boiko, parents were notified there would be no school for the day after utility officials said the power could be off for several hours.

Boiko said it appears power is slowly being restored to the school, but since parents were already notified, classes will be canceled for the day. Students whose parents can’t be reached will be kept at school.
