Gradual cooling trend continues to start the week

THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) – We're slated to see gradually more comfortable conditions this week in the form of some *subtle* drying and seasonal temperatures.

The moisture is having a tough time leaving the Coachella Valley. Dew points stayed in the 60s for much of the afternoon, but we're starting to see some improvements for spots in the west valley.

Our models continue to show improvements on the way; some increasing winds (up to 35-50 MPH in the San Gorgonio Pass) may help usher some of this moisture out. Drier air is approaching from the west.

Dew point temperatures by tomorrow afternoon show improvements, though we'll still likely be above the 40°F mark.

A cooling trend is continuing to help us feel more comfortable. Highs tomorrow will be a touch cooler than Sunday.

Our cooling trend bottoms out Tuesday and Wednesday. Expect highs in the low 100s, placing us a couple of degrees below seasonal. Another subtle warmup is expected for the latter half of the week.
