One person dead after car flips over Highway 74

According to the Riverside County Fire Department, one person has died following a car crash on Highway 74 north of Bighorn Drive in Pinyon.

Around 6 p.m. Friday, the first arriving firefighters reported a vehicle flipped over the side of the mountain, approximately 50 to 100 feet down.

One victim perished at the scene, according to Cal Fire.

Roads are closed in both directions.

Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
