Autism assistance to continue despite liquidation of Lumpy’s golf stores

The store that turned “Swing into Lumpy’s” into a recognizable jingle, is closing, according to a statement that went up Thursday on the Lumpy’s website.

The golf shop operates stores in La Quinta and Rancho Mirage, as well as a store in Fort Meyers, Florida.

“After more than 30 years of servicing the local community, we have made the decision to close all Lumpy’s locations. While we look forward to spending more time with friends and family, and even getting out on the course more ourselves, it has been a privilege and a pleasure serving our valued customers over the years. But, it’s not goodbye yet! Over the next several weeks, swing into Lumpy’s and save 20% – 70% on all your favorite golf gear.”

– Randy Corti & the Lumpy’s Family

In addition to the golf stores, the Corti family raises money for autism assistance through the Lumpy’s Foundation and the Scramble for Autism golf fundraiser.

“The Lumpy’s Foundation is a non-profit entity totally separate from the stores and will continue to thrive,” Corti told CBS Local 2 and KESQ. “We focus on helping local families dealing with the challenges of raising a child with Autism by making therapies more affordable. After the stores close, I still hope to dedicate time and energy to ensuring our programs continue to help those in need throughout the Coachella Valley.”
