Man arrested for felony child annoyance in Palm Springs

The Palm Springs Police Department arrested a 44-year-old man Tuesday morning after someone saw him harassing a juvenile girl and possibly trying to grab her.

Officers were called to the 1600 block of San Lorenzo Road at about 7:30 a.m. and found the suspect, Thomas Mabe of Palm Springs, in the 500 block of S. Sunrise Way.

After investigating, Mabe was arrested and charged with felony child annoyance and for violating his probation, officers said in a news release. Mabe was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning. He was sentence to 90 days but only served one day behind bars.

Officers said the girl wasn’t injured during the incident.
