DHS Police Search For Person Of Interest In Stabbing

Desert Hot Springs police confirm they were searching for a person of interest in connection with the stabbing death of Jose Villalobos.

On Wednesday, they searched the area of Palm and Pierson, and have shut down some roadways between 2nd street and Cahuilla on Palm Drive, wrapping up their search shortly before 5pm.

The deadly assault happened June 13th during a party held at his home on Third Street. The search began around 2:30 Wednesday afternoon when a deputy spotted a known person that detectives want to question in the murder.

So far police have arrested six suspects in the case. Ruben Chavez, 14; Steven Arellano, 14; Omar Hernandez, 16; and Angel Romero, 15, are being tried as adults and two other suspects age 17 which they have not named.
