Suspicious Package Found At Riverside County Lowes – Harmless

A Lowe’s home improvement store was evacuated today after an employee reported finding a suspicious-looking metal box inside the business, a sheriff’s deputy said.

Deputies and a hazardous device team were dispatched about 9:30 a.m. to the Lowe’s at 30472 Haun Road, said Sgt. Doug Payne of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

An employee found the metal box sitting outside the door to the indoor lumber yard, and no one knew where it came from or who placed it there, Payne said. It was checked out and found to be harmless, he said.
