FBI makes progress in DHS sexual abuse case

Last week, the FBI released photos of two women in an attempt to seek information leading to their separate identities.

While the FBI has no evidence to suggest either woman was engaged in criminal activity, their images were linked to digital evidence in an ongoing investigation involving the sexual abuse of a minor.

Agents investigating the matter released the photos in order to identify a victim and a suspect in this case. One of the women, known only as Jane Doe #25, voluntarily contacted the FBI after local electronic and print media outlets reported the story.

Agents have since interviewed the woman and have ascertained that she is, in fact, the woman in the photograph.

While the victim and suspect in this case remain unidentified, the woman was fully cooperative. Once the woman contacted the FBI, the photo depicting her tattoo was removed from the FBI’s website.

The FBI continues to seek the unidentified woman known as Jane Doe #26 and encourages anyone with information to contact the FBI by either calling 1 800 CALL FBI; by contacting their local field office; or by submitting a tip at fbi.gov.
