California produce company recalls chicken salad
A Northern California produce company says it’s recalling its chicken salad because the product label fails to disclose one of the dressing’s ingredients.
Tracy-based Taylor Farms Pacific said Wednesday it’s recalling approximately 678 pounds of its 12.25-oz. Signature Cafe BBQ Flavored Ranch Salad with Chicken, because the dressing packaged with it contains egg, a product that’s not declared on the label and can be harmful to some people with allergies.
The salad was sold to retail stores in California and Nevada and has a use-by date of “June 14, 13.”
The problem was discovered by the company during a document review and occurred because it used labels that were designed for another salad.
The company says it has received no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of the salad.
