Tickets for 2014 Humana Challenge are still available
Weekly tickets for the 2014 Humana Challenge golftournament are still available.
Tickets are being sold at a discount for Hope’s birthday — $55 — viawww.humanachallenge.com. The Humana Challenge, scheduled for Jan. 16-19, willcelebrate its 55th anniversary next year, according to tournament officials.
Grounds tickets are good Wednesday through Sunday and will be sold for$55 through June 16. One-day tickets, which will go on sale in August, are $30each.
“We’re pleased to give our fans the chance to purchase their HumanaChallenge tickets early and at this very special price. We hope they’ll makeplans to attend next year’s event the entire week, and save money in theprocess,” Humana Challenge Executive Director and CEO Bob Marra said.
Humana, a health insurance provider based in Kentucky, sponsors thetournament — called the Bob Hope Classic from 1965 to 2011 — with the ClintonFoundation. The tournament raises money for Coachella Valley charities,primarily Eisenhower Medical Center. The tournament is held at PGA West’sPalmer and Nicklaus private courses and La Quinta Country Club, and the fieldincludes PGA Tour professionals and amateurs.
Hope, a Palm Springs resident who regularly played in the tournament,died in 2003.
