Palm Springs man found dead in Banning
A man found dead near the Banning campus of Mt. San Jacinto College was identified today as a Palm Springs resident.
Someone reported 59-year-old Joseph Woodson lying motionless on the roadway in the 900 block of South Sunset Avenue at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, according to Banning police and county coroner’s officials. He died the same day.
A statement from the Riverside County Coroner’s Office designated his death as “suspicious,” but didn’t specify the cause of death. The case is under investigation.
