Here’s a schedule of weekend events for the Palm Springs ShortFest

Representatives from well-known studios, filmfestivals and publications will serve on panels and forums starting tomorrow atthe Palm Springs International ShortFest.

ShortFest started Tuesday and ends Monday at Camelot Theatres in PalmSprings. The discussion starting tomorrow will cover “emerging trends and newpractices in the global film community,” according to festival organizers.

“Building on the success of our forum panels and signature roundtableseries, we have seen a sharp increase in not only the filmmakers attending butin the number of new and returning industry making the trek to Palm Springs, aswell,” said Kathleen McInnis, ShortFest film curator and director of industryprogramming.

Here is the panel and forum lineup:
Friday
— 11:30 a.m., “Mythbusters: Is Content King?”
— 1 p.m., “Creating Content for the Marketplace”
— 3 p.m., “Writer’s Master Class — Perfect Pitch”

Saturday
— 9:30 a.m., Meet the Programmers
— 11:30 a.m., Meet the Press
— 1 p.m., “Lawyers, Guns (Managers) and Money (Agents)”

Sunday
— Time TBA, ShortFest Industry/Filmmaker Brunch

Industry figures from Echo Lake Entertainment, Fox, ICM Partners,Nickelodeon, Night and Day Pictures, Preferred Content, Sundance Film Festival,TNT, Tribeca Film Festival, the Toronto International Film Festival, New Yorkand Los Angeles Times, The Hollywood Reporter and other organizations areslated to participate.

More than 300 films will be screened at the 19th annual festival, andall 3,000 festival submissions will be available at the ShortFest Market.

Panel-only tickets are $11, Master Class tickets are $12. All ShortFestForum programs are free to accredited filmmakers participating in ShortFest andfilm market.
