Power restored following electrical fire
An electrical vault fire caused a power outage for 113 Imperial Irrigation District customers in Indio Thursday afternoon.
The Imperial Irrigation District said the damaged power lines were near Shadow Palm Avenue and Aladdin Street. The power outage affected residents of the Steadfast Cielo Vista Apartments.
According to officials with I.I.D., the power was restored to customers around 4:15 p.m.
Cal Fire and Riverside County firefighters responded to the electrical fire just before 1 p.m. The fire was extinguished about a half hour later.
The American Red Cross was requested to assist residents during the outage.
