Lightning from Saturday storms knock out power to hundreds

Southern California Edison reports lightning was to blame for outages in the High Desert, Desert Hot Springs, and near Cabazon.

All three outages happened with in ten minutes of each other starting at 11:30 a.m. which shows just how powerful this system was.

Over 450 people east of Highway 247 near Landers were affected, with power expected to be back on my 11:30 p.m..

Over 130 people affected Desert Hot Springs are also expected to be without power through the rest of Saturday night.
