Small quake near Catalina

A small earthquake may have rattled some people on Catalina Island at 10:12 p.m. Wednesday night. The U.S.G.S. reported the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 3.2.

The quake hit in the Pacific Ocean 12 miles South of Avalon and 39 miles Southwest of Newport Beach.

There are no reports of damage or injuries.
