Police arrest one suspect in Carl’s Jr. robbery

Police arrested one man in connection to an armed robbery at a fast food restaurant in Coachella Monday night.

The robbery happened at the Carls Jr. located near the corner of Harrison Street and Westerfield Way at about 8:45 p.m. Police said two suspects entered the restaurant and used a gun to rob employees. They made off with an unknown amount of cash.

Officers said they took 19-year-old Angel Alvarado into custody that same night after they found him running from the area. Investigators were called and determined he took part in the robbery.

He was booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio.

The second suspect was last seen running toward Westerfield Way and police are still searching for him. He’s described as Hispanic, about 5’9″ tall with a thin build. He was wearing a colored sweatshirt and a black shirt covering his face.
