Volunteers needed for Healing Field closing ceremony

The Healing Field closing ceremony takes place Saturday, November 15 at noon. The community is encouraged to attend the event at Patriot Park in Cathedral City, and coordinators said they’ll need volunteers to help unload flags award.

Patriot Park is located at the northeast corner of Date Palm Drive and Dinah Shore Drive.

According to event coordinator Betsy Hayes-Gonzalez, following the closing ceremony, volunteers are needed to roll up and carry flags, remove name tags and load up rebar to bring back to storage.

On Monday, November 17, the equipment will be unloaded at 8:30 a.m. at Cathedral Canyon Storage at 32500 Date Palm Drive. Hayes-Gonzalez said they’re looking for volunteers to help with this effort as well.

If you want to help, contact volunteer coordinator Diane Hines at ladycommish2002@yahoo.com or HealingFieldCC@gmail.com. Just let her know how many volunteers and which days you can show up to help.
