Community mourns well-respected chef killed in motorcycle crash

We’re learning more about a 53-year-old man from Palm Desert who died Thursday night after his motorcycle collided with a vehicle in Desert Hot Springs.

Tyrone Love Jr. was a well-respected chef at Miracle Springs Hotel and Spa on Palm Drive. The crash happened shortly after 7 p.m. as Love was driving northbound on Little Morongo Road, just south of 15th Avenue.

He was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.

According to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department, the other driver wasn’t hurt in the crash and is cooperating with the investigation, which is ongoing at this time.

An outpouring of support and condolences have gone out to Tyrone Love Jr. and his family via social media Friday morning.

Former Desert Hot Springs Mayor Yvonne Parks wrote: This is so sad. Tyrone was an asset to DHS. Specifically the Miracle Springs Hotel. My prayers are with his family. RIP my friend!!!

Police aren’t releasing any additional information about the crash at this time. News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 will bring you updates when more details are released.
