Update: Rollover accident on Gene Autry Trail at the Wash

Palm Springs Police are investigating a two car accident on Gene Autry Trail at the wash in Palm Springs.

Police report at 5:19 p.m. Saturday two vehicles were driving southbound on Gene Autry Trail, South of Interstate 10 at the time of the accident.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the two vehicles collided while one vehicle was merging into another lane, and both vehicles drove off the roadway east into the desert. One of the vehicles landed upside-down.

The drivers of the two vehicles involved in this collision were both transported to a local hospital for injuries sustained during this collision.

The cause of this traffic collision remains under investigation and it is unknown at this time if alcohol was a factor in this collision.

Gene Autry Trail was not closed and remained open during this investigation.
