Warm clothes sought for winter drive

The Well in the Desert is seeking warm clothing to help those in need during the winter.

The Palm Springs humanitarian organization is seeking scarves, gloves, mittens, beanies, warm socks, long johns, used coats, sleeping bags and blankets, spokeswoman Arlene Rosenthal said.

Donors can bring items to the group’s office at 555 N. Commercial Road,
Suite 10 in Palm Springs. If you’d like to contact someone by phone, call 760-327-8577.

The Well in the Desert is a nonprofit organization that’s been providing daily nutritious hot meals, emergency food assistance, weekly supplemental food distribution, and access to community services to those affected by poverty, including the working poor, the homeless, seniors, the handicapped and others in need throughout the west end of the Coachella Valley for more than 17 years, according to the organization’s website.
