Prom dress giveaways planned in Coachella Valley
The Desert Recreation District is partnering with Desert Best Friend’s Closet to help high school girls in the Coachella Valley dress to impress on Prom Night.
Karina Rodriguez works for the Desert Recreation District and she said there will be four locations giving away prom dresses beginning Saturday, April 11.
Prom dress giveaways:
April 11, Bagdouma Park Community Center, 51-521 Douma St., Coachella
April 12, Palm Desert Community Center, 43-900 San Pablo Avenue
April 18, Indio Teen Center, 81678 Avenue 46
April 19, Mecca Community Center, 65-250 Cahuilla Street
The program is open to high school girls in the Coachella Valley but appointments are required along with a valid school ID card. You can call (760) 776-9975 or email promdress@bfcloset.org to make an appointment.
Prom dress donations of all sizes, colors and styles are still being accepted for the giveaway event. You can drop off donations at Desert Best Friend’s Closet, located at 74-040 Highway 111, Suite F, in Palm Desert.
