Power restored for dozens of homes in Palm Springs

UPDATE: 5:30 Southern California Edison crews restored power to customers in Palm Springs Saturday around 5 p.m. after electrical problems shut down power Friday night.

Power is out for 64 Southern California Edison customers Palm Springs this Labor Day weekend.

The outage was first reported Friday just before midnight near Indian Canyon Road, between Racquet Club and E Via Escuela, leaving nearly 80 customers without electricity.

SCE said the outage was caused because of equipment problems.

Crews are working to have the lights back on by 6 p.m. Saturday.
