Motorcyclist survives plunge off Highway 74

A motorcyclist was hospitalized after he plunged 70 feet over the side of Highway 74 Sunday.

The California Highway Patrol first arrived on scene around 10 a.m. where officers discovered the man 70 feet over the side of the roadway, just a half a mile west of Vista Point near Pinyon Pines.

The motorcyclist was lifted to the road and then transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

The CHP is still investigating what caused the crash.
