UCLA student arrested for groping children

Police have arrested a UCLA student accused of inappropriately touching three young girls during a soccer game at the university.

UCLA Police Lt. Richard Davis said Wednesday that 25-year-old Max Diaz was arrested this week on suspicion of committing a lewd act on a child.

Davis says Diaz is suspected of groping three girls between 8 and 12 years old on Friday night at a UCLA women’s soccer game.

According to a crime alert issued Saturday, one of the girls reported she was inappropriately touched by the suspect after he sat behind her in the bleachers at Drake Stadium.

Campus police said the suspect fled when confronted by event staff.

It wasn’t immediately known if Diaz has a lawyer.

KABC-TV reports Diaz is a fourth-year Chicano studies student.
