Palm Springs hires new Community & Economic Development lead

Lauri Aylaian, Palm Desert’s long-time Director of Community Development, has been hired to lead the City of Palm Springs Community and Economic Development Department, City Manager David H. Ready announced today.

Aylaian, who has served the City of Palm Desert for 15 years, starting out as Redevelopment Manager from 1999 to 2007 until she was promoted to lead the entire Community Development Department comprised of Economic Development, Planning, Business Licensing, Sustainability, Code Compliance and Public Arts.

She will begin her new position at Palm Springs City Hall on Monday, Nov. 2. “The City of Palm Springs is excited to be gaining Lauri Aylaian as our new Director of Community and Economic Development,” said Ready. “Lauri’s expertise in complex redevelopment issues and vast knowledge of Coachella Valley government issues will be a huge asset. In addition, she is a Palm Springs resident who well understands the issues facing our community. We look forward to Lauri joining our team.”
