Fire causes thousands of dollars in damage at Twentynine Palms home

Officials from San Bernardino Arson & Bomb Detail were investigating an overnight fire in Twentynine Palms.

The fire was reported around 1 a.m. Sunday in the area of Old Dale Road and Araby.

Firefighters discovered a single story home engulfed in flames. No one was in the home at the time.

Crews had the fire under control within 30 minutes, but part of the roof did collapse.

The cost of damage was an estimated $60,000 to $70,000.

There was no word on the cause of the fire.
