Desert Hot Springs police investigate two shootings Friday night

Two shootings in Desert Hot Springs Friday night leave police looking for information and witnesses.

The first shooting happened around 9 p.m. at the 12300 block of Palm Drive. A man, shot once in the hand and once in the arm, flagged down police for help at Cactus and Flora Dr. He was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center. No word on his condition.

The second shooting was about a half-hour later, around 9:30 p.m. on the 13600 block of Verbena, near Palm Drive and Hacienda Avenue. Police say someone called them reporting someone shooting about 10 times at a home there.

Officers say one house was hit, and no one was hurt.

There is an investigation into both shootings, but police have not said if the two are connected. No information was provided about the possible cooperation by the reporting party or the first victim.
