KESQ is live in Riverside this AM with Richard Meaney arraignment
Watch KESQ News Channel 3’s Jeremy Chen reporting live in Riverside this morning with the latest on Richard Meaney’s planned arraignment.
Local developer Richard Meaney is set to make his first court appearance Friday at the Hall of Justice in Riverside. He is one of three men that includes developer John Wessman and former Palm Springs Mayor Steve Pougnet, the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office has filed charges against in the Palm Springs City Hall scandal.
Of the three men facing charges, Meaney is the least known. The FBI raid on City Hall and multi-task force investigation led to a paper trail that allegedly shows Meaney as “The man in the middle.”
“Richard Meaney and John Wessman were working together to bribe the Mayor and so the monies were traveling from the developers to the mayor and then in exchange for influence for favors,” Riverside County District Attorney Mike Hestrin said in a February 2017 press conference announcing the charges against Wessman, Meaney, and Pougnet.
