Erroneous evacuation orders sent for Cranston area, info corrected by County alerts

Riverside County emergency management officials correct mistake that warned Cranston Fire burn area residents to evacuate.

Shortly before 5 p.m., a storm alert crawl aired on television warning residents of the Cranston Fire to evacuate due to a storm.

Brooke Federico, the senior public information specialist for the county Emergency Management Department, told KESQ & CBS Local 2 that an alert was sent out earlier for voluntary evacuation warnings for some zones in the Holy burn area. Federico said some incorrect information was accidentally added to the message regarding the Cranston burn area.

The error was addressed on social media and other platforms.
