Coachella man arrested for alleged mail & credit card theft

Coachella man arrested following an investigation into a spree of mail theft.

According to the La Quinta Police Department, members of the La Quinta Special Enforcement Team conducted a probation check on Arturo Sanchez.

During the check, officers allegedly found over 40 pieces of stolen mail and credit cards in Sanchez’s room. Officers located Sanchez at his girlfriend’s house. Officers say they arrested Sanchez following a short pursuit after he attempted to run out of the back door of the residence.

Sanchez has been in booked into Indio Jail for check fraud, check forgery, identity theft, possession of stolen access cards and violation of formal probation. Sanchez also had two active felony warrants for check fraud and domestic violence.

According to jail records, he is being held on $250,000.
