Deputies arrest suspected rapist following pursuit in Bermuda Dunes

The man was arrested has been identified as Gabriel Ortiz, 24, of Bermuda Dunes. Ortiz is accused of raping a developmentally disabled woman.

Deputies with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department arrest suspected rapist in Bermuda Dunes Thursday night.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, shortly after 9:30 p.m., deputies spotted a suspect with wanted for a rape warrant near the intersection of Country Club Drive and Washington Street. The suspect fled from police on foot but was apprehended at around 10:10 p.m. nearby in Bermuda Dunes.
