PSUSD celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

October is ‘Hispanic Heritage Month.’ Communities throughout the country are coming together to celebrate Latino culture.

Here in the Coachella Valley, the Palm Springs Unified School District PTA and Family Center put together a big event with a food from numerous cultures, music, entertainment, and even a talent show.

The community was invited to come and learn about other Hispanic cultures and as well as share their own culture.

“We see the challenges that our people have faced just to be a part of this country just to be here. I always feel such a pride to see that we all come together like this and celebrate our upbringings, our culture, our different personalities,” said Eddie Coreas, a Palm Springs resident. “It’s good to see that as a whole community, a Latino community, we all seem to get along together. It’s beautiful to see and I take pride in that,”

Concession sales benefitted the Palm Springs PTA. Palm Springs’ Family Center’s next event will be a STEM Conference on Saturday, November 10.
