Riverside gas prices rise for 17-days straight, break 3+ year record
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County rose today to its highest amount since Aug. 7, 2015, increasing three-tenths of a cent to $3.797.
The average price has increased 17 consecutive days, rising 22.5 cents, including six-tenths of a cent on Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 5 cents more than one week ago, 24.7 cents higher than one month ago and 78.9 cents greater than one year ago. It has risen 72.4 cents since the start of the year.
“Oil prices and oil futures have risen sharply while continued issues at refineries in El Segundo and Los Angeles intensified anxieties about local gasoline supplies,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
