Riverside gas prices continue troubling trend, spike for 18th-straight day
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County rose today to its highest amount since Aug. 7, 2015, increasing three-tenths of a cent to $3.80.
The average price has increased 18 consecutive days, rising 22.8 cents, including three-tenths of a cent on Thursday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 4.3 cents more than one week ago, 24.6 cents higher than one month ago and 80.3 cents greater than one year ago. It has risen 72.7 cents since the start of the year.
“The latest California Energy Commission fuels report showed an increase in gasoline inventories and refinery production during the first week in October, which should help prices at the pump,” said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
