Woman killed in Palm Springs crash, seriously injured driver arrested
A woman is dead following a single vehicle crash on Interstate 10 west of Palm Springs. The driver of the vehicle is in serious condition and has been arrested.
The California Highway Patrol said a car rolled 25 feet off the freeway at 3:55 a.m. Monday eastbound on the I-10, east of Whitewater Canyon Road. The vehicle ended up on its roof.

CHP officials say Juan Franco, 33, of Yucca Valley was traveling eastbound in the #3 lane, at a high rate of speed. While at driving fast, Franco allowed the car to drift to the right and onto the south paved shoulder. Franco lost control as he attempted to steer it back into the eastbound lanes. The vehicle went over the south embankment and collided with multiple rocks and a large dirt berm. The severity of the collision ejected the female passenger and partially ejected Franco.
The woman, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene, Franco was transported to Desert Regional with life-threatening injuries
Authorities have not revealed the identity of the woman at this time.
CHP says Franco was arrested at Desert Regional after allegedly exhibiting indications of alcohol intoxication and was arrested at Desert Regional Medical center.
