Masked man robs workers at Coachella bakery

Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputies are currently seeking a man who robbed two customers at a Coachella bakery this morning.

At 10:30 a.m., a masked man armed with a gun entered Mi Tierra Bakery on the 51600 block of Harrison Street in Coachella. He began asking for money from the register, but no cashier was present at the time. According to one of the bakery workers, he then became anxious and took the wallets from two workers in the business at the time.

The workers say that the robbery didn’t come as a surprise, as it is not uncommon in the area. The workers said that it was possible that the man may have robbed other adjacent businesses, but according to Investigator Munoz of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the bakery was the only business targeted.

No one was injured during the incident. Deputies are currently investigating and sweeping the area for the suspect.
