Man uses backhoe to damage security booth at local golf club

A viewer told KESQ & CBS Local2 the incident happened at around 8 a.m. at the Stone Eagle Golf Club on Highway 74 in Palm Desert.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department confirmed the person went into an empty backhoe and damaged the security booth at the club.

Deputies detained the suspect who was then transported to a local hospital for a mental evaluation.
