Mild conditions are expected all week

Some gusts will gradually pick up heading into the evening hours. These will be mainly in the usual wind-prone areas such as the pass, the I-10 corridor and Desert Hot Springs.

A fairly strong trough of low pressure has dug into Southern California. This is what brought in our mild temperatures this morning. Weak high pressure will build in the system's wake, causing daily highs to increase slightly for the remainder of the week.

We are looking at a nice, fall-like week here in the valley. Temperatures will be in the 80s in the afternoons with overnight lows in the low 60s to upper 50s. A second trough will likely cause temperatures this weekend and early next week to fall into the 70s.
