Continued warming into the weekend

An Air Quality Alert is in place for areas to our west. This alert is for fine smoke particles created from wildfires around Southern California. Air quality around the low valley Thursday night is predominately 'good' with a pocket of 'moderate' being reported near Indio.

We continue to have a ridge of high pressure leading the way for the southwest. This is providing clear skies and warming temperatures. Palm Springs recorded a high temperature of 87°, just 2° above the daily average. Afternoons heading into the weekend will be around 5° above average.

High temperatures will climb into the low 90s this weekend and early next week before the next cooling trend arrives. Don't forget! The end of Daylight Saving Time occurs at 2 AM Sunday when we "fall back" one hour!
