Senator Bernie Sanders’ wife, Dr. Jane Sanders, visits Palm Springs businesses
The first stop on the small business tour for Dr. Jane Sanders and her son David Driscoll was Grounded Bodyworks on North Palm Canyon Drive, where they were greeted by business owners and members of the desert art community.
"I want to hear what their concerns are so I can bring them back to Bernie and we can incorporate them in the policies he offers," said Sanders.

The owner of the boutique spa, Jennifer Parks, in business for five years and employing 18 people, says she appreciates Senator Sanders track record of supporting small businesses, which Dr. Sanders talked about.
"Small business in Burlington was very well taken care of when he was mayor," said Sanders.
Palm Springs resident Shana Frahm, a Sanders campaign staffer in 2016 and now a campaign volunteer .. selected the three businesses for the tour, saying the owners are democrats who share the same vision, values, and priorities as Senator Sanders.
"It is very exciting to be able to show the Sanders all the amazing businesses that are here around town," said Frahm.
Their second stop was at "Placewares - The General Store for Good Design", where Sanders visited with one of the owners, Kevin Lane, while other supporters watched and waited to speak with the wife of the presidential candidate.
"It's an honor. Glad to be able to talk with them to let them know what it's like to have a small business in a small town," said store manager Brooks Thomas.
The third and final stop was at La Akua, where owners Rachel and Shane Hammond say they appreciate being featured in the political campaign.
Rachel Hammond says her store features products which are "eco=friendly" and "sustainable", which are frequent topics for Sanders while stumping.
"I believe that we were selected because we are a true small mom and pop shop. We are those local retail stores that are making America great," said Hammond.
Dr. Sanders says Senator Sanders spent the day focused on preparing for Thursday night's debate in Los Angeles.
They will stay in the desert Tuesday night and travel to Los Angeles Wednesday.
