Vigil planned on anniversary of MMA instructor’s murder
A vigil is planned Thursday for Ramon Diaz, a local MMA instructor who was killed on March 28, 2018 in Cathedral City.
No arrests have been made in Diaz’s killing.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, a family member of Diaz posted about the vigil, which is set for 6 PM at the location of a billboard seeking information about Diaz’s killing, located between Gene Autry Trail and Crossley Road on Dinah Shore Drive/Mesquite Avenue in Palm Springs.
The post, from Marco N Leilani Diaz:
Aloha Loved Ones,
Thanks to God’s grace and the generosity of Vanessa and Robynne from Lamar Advertising, we received confirmation that Ramon’s Billboard was in fact moved yesterday back to Palm Springs. This is great news because we can now proceed as [tentatively] scheduled for tomorrow evening’s candlelight vigil to mark the 1 Year of the loss of our Brother, Ramon. The new location is between Gene Autry and Crossley on Mesquite/ Dinah Shore and the vigil will begin at 6:00 pm. I ask, from the bottom of my heart, that you join us, so that we may bring our loss back into the public eye. Please share this and encourage your family and friends to join us. Much love and Aloha- The Diaz Ohana

Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
