Man arrested, hospitalized after reported DUI crash
A 32-year-old man was arrested today for allegedly crashing his vehicle at a Rancho Mirage intersection while driving drunk.
Ranjeet Minocha of Palm Desert was arrested just after 3 a.m. for crashing his vehicle near the intersection of Highway 111 and Paxton Drive, Palm Desert police Sgt. Joe Ruiz said. When officers arrived, they found a seemingly inebriated Minocha in a single-vehicle crash.
According to Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputy Mike Vazquez, a vehicle was reportedly speeding in the direction of the intersection shortly before the crash this morning.
Police did not immediately say what Minocha hit at the intersection.
Minocha was taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries, although police confirmed that formal charges will be filed out of custody due to his injuries.
