Yesterday, Palm Springs hit a high temperature of 59° during the morning hours. Temperatures stayed cooler throughout the rest of the day. Rainfall was consistently falling through the day, though it did stay mostly light. Here is a look at some rainfall totals over the past 24 hours as of 9 p.m. Monday night.

More rain is expected to head into the rest of this week. Christmas Eve looks to stay mostly dry with some afternoon clearing. We will see some more sunshine and temperatures will be a little bit warmer, yet still well below normal. Rain chances can arrive as early as Wednesday late afternoon and evening with some scattered to isolated development. The most activity should stay to the west during this time frame but we still have the potential to pick up on some light rain and mountain snow. The bulk of the activity moves back in with another area of low pressure and cold front by very early Thursday morning.

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Wednesday night through Thursday for our surrounding mountain communities. This has the potential to make travel difficult to near impossible. Heavy snow is forecasted. Below 4500 ft. 4"-8" will be possible, 12"-24" possible between 4500 - 6500 ft., and above 6500 ft. over 24" will be possible. Heavy and blowing snow will reduce visibility. There will also be gusty northerly winds with this incoming system that can contribute to falling tree branches and power outages. Stay safe and be prepared!

Temperatures will drop back into the 50's Wednesday and Thursday. Keep your jackets and umbrellas on hand!
