Rain moves east; wind remains into the night

Light rain fell across the Coachella Valley this afternoon, leaving minimal accumulation. Higher totals were recorded through the San Gorgonio Pass, Beaumont exceeding 1" of rain.

Wind gusts around the low desert have exceeded 30 MPH this afternoon. A Wind Advisory remains in effect for the Coachella Valley until midnight.

Drier conditions await the Southland on Wednesday, but more rain and snow will move into Northern California. The active weather pattern that kickstarted the 2023 year will continue into the middle of the month.

Warmer and drier days will carry the Coachella Valley through the latter half of this week. The next opportunity for rain to return is on Saturday through Monday. The First Alert Weather Team will keep you updated as the next storm system nears.
