Coachella Youth Golf wraps up successful third season

Coachella Youth Golf finished another strong summer season here in the desert, capped off by their championship at Andalusia in La Quinta.

CYG is a local, non-profit, volunteer-based organization developed to provide kids an affordable opportunity to play competitive golf on local courses.


SEASON RECAP:
262 players participated in 8 tournaments (two days each) at local host courses, which are listed below.

  • LQCC
  • Desert Horizons
  • SilverRock
  • BDCC
  • Big Rock
  • The Hideaway
  • Ironwood
  • Andalusia

This season there were players from every desert city, as well as Los Angeles, Long Beach, Twentynine Palms, Yucaipa, Beaumont, Rancho Cucamonga, La Habra, and Victorville.

PLAYERS OF THE YEAR
Middle School Girls: Ryann Hernandez
Middle School Boys: Easton Ponchot
HS Girls: Chelsea Weiss (8th grade)
HS Boys: Nate Carlson (Helendale)
