Fire crews rescue injured hiker in Idyllwild

Cal fire firefighters responded to reports of an injured rock climber on Tahquitz Rock in Humber Park at 3:16 p.m. today.

With the assistance of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department helicopter, Rescue 9, rescuers were able to extricate an injured climber and safely bring them to the ground. They were evaluated and treated by paramedics before being flown to an area hospital by Reach Air Ambulance with moderate injuries.

The second person was also extricated by Rescue 9 and transported to the ground, where they declined further treatment.
